| About Me |
I'm a stay at home mom to two boys, one special needs child. I began an interest in the three Rs in high school but didn't get much support from my family. Now that I run the show I still have to do more convincing than I'd like, but we live in an area of the country that is still a little blind to the thought of global warming or even saving electricity. |
| Favorite green websites/publications: |
mother earth news, planet green |
| If I could change one thing in the world, it would be: |
everyone's awareness of their impact and potential |
| I think the most important environmental issue is: |
Wow, where to start, awareness of all things environmental, global warming, autism (not environmental? what if these kids end up with it because of what we've chemically put into them? what if worse things are to come? Neurotoxicity is pretty environmental) |
| The greenest thing I do is: |
TRY to green my family and talk it up to others, I'm not ashamed of what we do, I'm very proud and wish we could do more! Products are cost prohibitive here because we end up getting so much of what we try that's green through the mail then you have the exhaust and gas consumption from the postman! |
| What does "sustainability" mean to me: |
I wish a zero carbon footprint, everything made goes back into the earth without changing it. I don't think we all have to live in mud huts, but if that mud hut was a cool design with great lighting and all the amenities were done in a green way, oh heck yeah!!! |
| Why am I passionate about being green? |
I see the disconnect between my parents and the effect their generation has had on the planet, I don't want my kids to suffer for the sake of consumption. I want them to be able to have kids and grandkids!~ |
