| About Me |
My name is Kim, I'm a college student, and I'm 110% green. I try to be a living example of how we can have a positive impact on the earth, even in little ways like recycling, using reusable water bottles/shopping bags, conserving electricity, etc. I'm on the Green Team at my college, and our mission is to promote green living and practices on our campus, our community, and even the world! |

| If I could change one thing in the world, it would be: |
The general belief of "I'm just one person, what I do has no impact on the world." Even as individuals, we all have a huge impact on this planet, and thus we all have to ability to change it. |
| I think the most important environmental issue is: |
A few of the issues I think are the most important are: - Recycling - Oil and Energy Consumption/Alternatives - Automobile Industry - Deforestation - Amount of Garbage - Raising Awareness/Public Education - Meat Consumption/Worldwide demand - Endangered Species as a result of climate change - and MORE! |
| The greenest thing I do is: |
be a Vegetarian. A huge percentage of the crops we grow around the world are used to feed the livestock we eat. Also, millions of trees are cut down daily to provide room to raise cattle for consumption; largely due to the growing worldwide demand for beef. Being a vegetarian is probably one of the greatest things a person can do to reduce his/her carbon footprint, and fight global warming. :) |
| What does "sustainability" mean to me: |
Being able to live fully without having a devastating impact on the environment. Today, the way things work, in order for us to live, something has to suffer. We have a negative impact on every aspect of the environment. Sustainability is a world where we can live in harmony with nature, and be able to live without depleting precious resources, while stabilizing the planet for the future. |
| Why am I passionate about being green? |
To me being green is so incredibly necessary. As humans, especially living in America, we are drastically damaging our planet. We are consuming precious resources and hurting the environment at a staggering rate. Being green stands for a new incredibly powerful change that is starting to take place globally. I'm green because as person, I have the ability to in my own way, change the world. :) |
