About Me

EcoGeek was conceived and founded (and is run and edited) by Hank Green. Hank started EcoGeek in graduate school as a class assignment for his professor, Jon Weber, formly of the Industry Standard, currently of NewWest.net. Pete Holm designed our logo, and also writes and draws one of our favorite comic strips (Gary Bringer of Pain).

EcoGeek is written by Hank Green, Phillip Proefrock, Dave Burdick, Gavin Harper, Matt James, Nino Marchetti, A. Siegel, Billy Shih, and Jon Schroeder.

Favorite green websites/publications:

EcoGeek, of course!

Favorite non-profit organization

The Nature Conservancy

The greenest thing I do is:

Write about the coolest things in clean technology.

Why am I passionate about being green?

Technology can be a force for evil, or for awesome. Those who shun the tech are just as guilty as those who ignore the environment. There's a safe balance, where the awesome can help nature as much as it helps us have a good time and live easier lives.
