| If I could change one thing in the world, it would be: |
Tricky question...I'm always scared of these, it's that whole "careful what you wish for" dilemma. I like to think of our planet as being a self sustainable organism and if anything is in need of some change here, it is humans, and their ability to ignore anything they think does not pertain to their own selfish lives. |
| I think the most important environmental issue is: |
The human impact. Although that includes pretty much every environmental issue. Right now I think that the most important to deal with quickly is our electricity generation and use. Conservation needs to start now, and coal plants need to stop belching. |
| The greenest thing I do is: |
Thinking. Every decision I make from the house I bought 2 miles away from my job, the light bulbs I use, the temperature on my thermostat, the food I buy that has recyclable packaging, to the electric scooter I drive. Every life decisions should be weighed carefully against impacts on the environment, thinking is the greenest practice in existence. |
| What does "sustainability" mean to me: |
To me, it means keeping everything we have left in the front of our minds every day. It means doing everything we can to prevent our devastating habits from destroying the planet any further. |
| Why am I passionate about being green? |
Maybe I'm an Idealist, maybe I'm just naive, but I can't think of a more genuine way to live one's life than to live for our environment. I can't believe how oblivious most people are to the happenings of today. Their lives are about consumption, never knowing where their products came from or where they are going and we have spent too long ignoring these very vital facts. |
| About Me |
My whole life I have been interested in the human condition and how we interact with nature and each other. I have a BA in Art History and am currently working on my M. Ed. in Elementary Education. I have become very interested in environmental education and how I can improve my way of life in my environment while teaching others to do the same. |
