Hello all,
I have joined today and love this site already! My name is Skye I come from the UK. I live in a small village. I have an organic beauty line which is increasing all the time. I also have an online organic business.
I have family and we don't live to far from historic Hastings. I have a high honours degree in Environment and Development, and have tried to live a 'green' life for the past ten years. I am just about to sow some spring herbs, with Demeter organic seeds. I look forward to sharing information.

Hi jenniferchait.

Thanks for the welcome. It is such a shame that I am in the UK and always looking when you guys are all asleep.

I will keep checking in with interest. Nice to get to know you and share green thinking.

I have had my eye on Portland, Oregon?! How funny. I have been reading what an Eco-City it is.

Trust me, you may think I'm sleeping but I'm up late :) PDX is amazing place to live and is pretty green compared to other places I've been, although I could do without the traffic. I'm not a big city type, but in my opinion, if you have to choose one, Portland is a good bet.

Oh, I totally missed this topic. I am Fredrik, from Gothenburg, Sweden. I'm a 24 year old with a masters decree (one year, the old european system) in env. science, that love to discuss all things environmental. Climate change, carbon dioxide, other environmental problems etc. And ecotoxicology (ie chemicals behaviour in nature), like chemicals in clothes and fabrics.

Right now I'm most interested in transportation, and commuting in general. I kind of ignored that area in my studies and as I am now an intern at Commute Greener! (Volvo group) I have opened my eyes to this area. I never thought the commute could be an interesting area:P

I also blog at the companies web page, so do a search if you are interested.

Hi greens,

So glad to hear about you going vegetarian. I haven't eaten meat for 22 years, and never missed it for a minute. Discovered all sorts of wonderful new recipes, new spices, new cuisines. Am healthy as a horse, at age 63.

I retired and now write novels about the human consequences of climate change. What Love Can't Do (2006) and Human Scale (2010) are eco-thrillers you can't put down. Check them out!

I am active in several enviro groups. Right now I am most interested in the social and psychological aspects of our dependence on oil. Our consumer-driven culture and values are the most difficult obstacle we have to achieving a green future.
