Anyone out there have some ideas for green Christmas gifts? I've got a 9y/o and a 13 y/o that don't need anything. They don't even have much on their lists. I would love to find something new, neat, and green for them.
I can't think of something for the kids right now but I am making gifts for friends and family. I am knitting some baskets, which I am going to felt and then put some of my homemade soap in them. Last year we decided with my husband not to buy gifts for each other, so I made him a sweater out of yarn I already had.
I am thinking of making this a tradition and make gifts for people from now on out of recycled materials (things I already have or from the thrift store).

Hmm...we've got this wiki about green gifts, but it's not all kid-oriented. Lately I've been big on the idea of giving experiences, rather than stuff - something like a day at a local national park or a membership to a fun museum.

That's very cool, eris! Recycling and making way more personal gifts. Double points there.
I wish I had the talent to make something for others. Besides cookies, I've got zero talent.
It doesn't have much to do with talent in my opinion... With crafts, with enough practice you can get something decent made. Besides there is so many books and instructions on the internet... I don't consider myself talented, I just can follow intsructions ;)
Besides, it's the thought that counts, and the fact that you put some time and energy into making something for someone. It's so easy to go out and buy something but I really cherish gifts that were hand made, even if they are not perfect!
