Haha...okay, so I have to admit, Monday night I got home and my roommate and I flopped on the couch to watch some silly TV. Yes, we did indeed watch Project Runway. I think it was a rerun of the episode where they're designing for Diane von Frustenberg and contesant Leanne Marshall talks about her spy name, Leanimal.
Well, I didn't think too much about it. Yeah, I didn't think about it at all. Until now. Flipping around the green blogosphere, I just came across this on Inhabitat:
Project Runway is my favorite reality show on TV, and here’s why:
While most reality shows pit desperately unremarkable people against each other in questionable ’skills’ such as bug-eating, trading spouses, or competing for the love of Brett Michaels, Project Runway is a show that is actually about talent. The designers who come on the show have real skills, and every season there are a few who are exceptionally talented and visionary. This current season of Project Runway, all of my bets are on eco-minded fashion designer Leanne Marshall, who is turning heads with her creatively structured, eco-chic couture. (See the rest of the post over there)
Apparently Leanne likes to recycle textiles and uses eco-fabrics like hemp, bamboo, and organic cotton.
And in case you were wondering who one the Diane von Furstenberg challenge...Leanne did. With that dress/coat combo to the right.
