Organic ethanol?

I just reviewed my EO Organic Hand Sanitizer spray (mmmmm, my hands smell good) and I see that it has 62% organic ethanol. What does that mean?

 

Sorry if that's too broad of a question, but I was just curious what the difference would be from plain ol' ethanol.

I saw that on my container of EO Hand Sanitizer too.  I assume it means the source of the ethanol (corn?) is organic.

alcohol is distilled, so unless a pesticide has the same boiling point as alcohol (80C) there's no way it's been transferred along. So the difference in the end product between organic ethanol and plain old ethanol is zero.

 

If you care about pesticide application on a farm then I guess it might make a difference to you, but I think the selling point of organic food (for most) is that it's better for you (ie less/no weird chemicals in it).
