With the space shuttle now gone, it is obvious the weaponization of space will continue with the new robotic X-37 that just concluded a 490 day secret space mission. What was it doing up there all that time - targeting Russian and Chinese communications and spy satellites? Nobody knows for sure, but since this is a DARPA project being run by the Air Force and NOT NASA, we can be sure it has nothing to do with space exploration or science.
But, after I saw this link, I would not be surprised if the future versions of this covert craft will be powered with a plasma battery and propulsion system. Using the plasma battery would eliminate the need for this satellite killer to ever return to Earth. But since it also has a cargo bay and robotic arm, I suppose it can also be used to steal enemy satellites as well! Anyway, there are over 100 better more peaceful and practical uses for this awesome technology as you can see at this link...
