What's your average kwh?

There are many ways we can lower our energy use - 

1.  Convert to L.E.D. lighting  =) Had to list that first since I sell L.E.D. lighting.

2.  Install motion-sensing or timer switches for your lights - so they're not "on" when not in use - especially pantry's!  We tend to forget that we leave lights on - when we can't see them!

3.  Ensure that your computer system is set to "sleep" after a period of inactivity - it'll save energy and the computer itself.

4.  Turn off your television when you walk away from it!

5.  Replace CRT monitors and televisions with LCD style televisions - remember - energy converted to heat is wasted energy and CRTs are little space heaters.

6.  Do larger loads of laundry - versus multiple small loads all day.

7.  Unplug chargers and electronics that are not in constant use.  This will also reduce a fire hazard.  If every power outlet looks like a snake-pit with multiple power strips, there's a true concern here!

8.  Convert to energy efficient appliances.  Many water softeners and heaters are now being designed with computers that keep a record of your usage cycles and use this information to make effective use of electricity.

9.  Install sky-lighting if possible - it will reduce the need for overhead & accent lighting in certain areas.

10.  Solar panels!! However, these are often investments that are not easily affordable "up front" ..
