Water Filters

Thread Starter

Hey Guys,

I just moved to Sydney and discovered that my suburb's water quality is very low. There are small particles in the water you can see floating around, really icky.

But I really don't want to buy bottled water, do you have any suggestions for not too costly water filters that actually work?

I would need to filter around 3 liters per day.

Ann

Hi! Do you have a sunny area? I would look into evaporation/distillation options, supported by a smaller filtering system for when the sun isn't shining!

Water has many microorganisms and impurities which are harmful for our health. I had always boiled water to make it germs free. My friend suggested me water filters to make water clean and safe for drinking.

Better safe than sorry, if the water "stream" is poor, take a luxury buy bottled water, invest in yourself .. by God ..

A good filter should do the trick. However, for peace of mind buy a water test kit and see what the reading are after you filter it. If you still don't like what you see buy bottled water. However, a good quality filter should solve the problem.

It is much safer to buy water filters just to sure of the quality of water that we have to drink everyday but sometimes buying bottled waters are also safe as long as we sterilized it.

Hi Ann, I suggest you to boil the water for few minutes and then cool it and filter using a cotton cloth, I hope this will be sufficient to get useful drinking water.

Normal filters can filter out these particulars.  Make sure that there are filter padding provided for replacement!

I think water filters are a must these days since almsot every water reservoir and acquifer seems to be polluted. But from what I read, only a reverse osmosis filter is truly effective. Di you guys hear about a new water filter that runs electricity through the water?  If so, I would appreciate the link and feedback.  Thanks
