Starter Kit for Starting Huddler

Thread Starter

Is there a starter kit for someone who is just starting to go green?  I was looking for a list of 10-20 product/ideas/actions to get me started, really basic stuff.  I write this in the eco-cleaning forum, but would love the list to include anything that a first-timer would need.

Thank you.

That's a great idea! We have a few buying guides for different categories in our wikis, but putting something basic together about the benefits of each type of green product with links of where to find them would be a great way to get folks started.

Certainly can't promise it today, but we'll get on it. Thanks a lot fotenos!

Shaklee offers a great starter kit but it's a little pricey.  Some of the products I love, others I can do without.  I'll keep my choices to myself so you can see for yourself.  Go to their website and sign up.

I meant to post these wikis here a while ago as well - in response to this post, we worked with the Huddle to create Guides to Going Green. There are 3 tracks in order of increasing difficulty/financial commitment:

Beginners Guide: Some free tips and suggestions of ways to spend $1200 to save up to $8000

Intermediates Guide: Medium up front costs (appliances, HVAC, etc.) for saving $7000

Experts Guide: Solar panels, transportation and other larger ticket, but great suggestions for decreasing your footprint as well as gas/water/energy expenditures

I hope they're helpful!
