I believe you will all find this video of interest because of your focus on environmental awareness.
Cereplast (www.cereplast.com), a company that manufactures plastic alternatives out of renewable resources like wheat, tapioca, corn and algae, has produced the below video which depicts the potential hazards of petroleum-based plastics.
Plastics are ubiquitous in everyday life – it’s used for the production of shopping bags, water bottles, coffee cups, toys, shampoo bottles, candy wrappers and thousands of other products. Many people are unaware of the dangers of plastic and its harmful effect on the environment. Did you know that over 60 to 100 million barrels of oil are used each year for the manufacturing of plastic bags alone? Or that Americans buy an estimated 29.8 billion plastic water bottles every year? Nearly 8 out of 10 of those end up in a landfill!
We hope to educate people about how plant-based bioplastics are an environmentally friendly alternative for product manufacturing - it looks the same and feels the same, it just doesn't harm the earth.
