Hi All-
I've got a homemade generator, Works like a charm, could use a bit larger motor but none the less effective. My brother built it a little over 2 years ago. I am not taking over the project.
I'm working on my senior mechanical engineering project and I choose to use the turbine. I a studying the pitch of the blades as a function of output voltage via RPM. I also may pier into a 6 blade rotor instead of a standard 3.
I am looking for some detailed information for the motor we are using on it:
INDIANA GEN'l 30 VDC MOTOR 4 WIND GENERATOR Z4010D-53B is what we are currently using, I can tell its a 30V and was looking for some manufacturer's information but haven't came up with anything substancial. It seems like a pretty common generator motor, so maybe someone has it and can aid me in my hunt????
Also, I was wondering if there were any guidelines for the size of the rear rudder, maybe something like the area of of the rudder should be proportional fin area? Just looking to keep my tests away from arbitrary dimensions.
Also, I have the motor/fins mounted on a 4x2 which also has the rudder attached to it, any suggestions as to how long this should be???
Thanks for all your help!!!!
Cheers- AT
