Mothers from the D.R. often make a kind of tea for their infants; they combine it with the powdered formula.  It is composed of a gallon of distiled water to which a 1/2 teaspoon of the following herbs are added:  whole cloves, whole alspice, camomile flowers, dried oregano (not powdered), star anise, anise seed, and 2 sticks of cinnamon.  The "tea" is boiled for awhile until the liquid turns a golden brown color.  Has anyone heard of this before?  Is there a health risk?
