Meadow F, who is likely Dr. Jello (a lot of Dr. Jello's best answers are awarded by users with nyms like "Clara F" and "Janelle F" so "Meadow F" is right in line with that), seems to have taken a shine to Trevor. How long do you think it will take for Trevor to figure out that he is just wasting his time by being reasonable with the guy?

I don't think Meadow is Jello. If it were the same person, the Jello ID would still be active too. Plus Meadow is much more articulate than Jello, and actually tries to hide his/her dishonesty. Jello wasn't the least bit subtle.
Trevor is very patient, maybe to a fault. He also recently said that he has a lot of respect for jim z. That made my jaw drop. He basically said "I have a lot of respect for jim, but he's being an idiot". My reaction was "he's always an idiot!".
Trevor's just a nice guy who's very patient and willing to spend the time trying to explain things to anyone, regardless of their willingness to learn. It takes a long time for him to realize that deniers are never going to learn. Maybe a couple months until he gives up on Meadow.
I'm starting to think that Meadow is a pathological liar. Almost every single one of his Q&As contain some sort of lie - usually a blatant one - but I'm not sure he even realizes he's doing it.

Oh, I stand somewhat corrected. I actually just got an email from Trevor saying
So he sees through Meadow, but Trevor is nevertheless a very patient person.

I think Meadow spends all his / her time trawling through archives looking for some nugget to use rather than focussing on the current issue

Trevor may seem patient but he may somewhat follow the same philosophy as Meadow. That is, although he is patient with people who don't really deserve it, at least other people who read the question and answers now and in the future will see his intelligent answer and take it into consideration. Nothing gets erased on the internet, and it's very possible that 5 years from now a search for the words 'greenhouse CO2 AGW' will bring some stupid YA question among the first 10 results. It's great that there will be at least one well informed response to that question.

Yeah that's always been my motivation in answering denier questions too - at least if some genuinely open-minded person reads the answers, the correct information will be there. Though my patience is wearing thin and I've been answering fewer denier questions recently, so it's good to have Trevor around too. Plus his answers are usually pretty interesting and informative to read.
