BPA Banned Many Places but Not In Oregon

I'm always reading about green on the web, but sometimes forget to check up on what's going on right in my own backyard. Not cool right. Chalk it up to being super busy. Anyway, I just read a very good piece at Oregon Live about BPA and how Oregon Senate defeated a bill last month to ban BPA once and for all from the bottles and sippy cups sold here.

It's a little strange because Washington, Minnesota, Connecticut and Maryland have all recently banned BPA and other states are working on this issue.

If you're in Oregon or just want to learn more about the new FDA stance covering the BPA issue, or the the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences' ongoing $30 million, two-year study of BPA and its impact on human health, then this article is a good read.

It is unbelievable to me that any politician would vote to not ban BPA's in Oregon. I would be willing to bet that one of the major producers of BPA's is in Oregon. Stainless Steel water bottles is the best alternative to plastic bottles.
