Eco-Friendly Zombieland Coming Soon on DVD

We've been having an odd discussion here lately about Avatar and all the weirdness surrounding people thinking it's too green, recruiting eco-terrorists, what have you, but there's another movie coming out on DVD soon that was actually green, or at least that's the rumor.

Zombieland has been wildly commented on as being a green movie. Mainly, from what I hear because of star Woody Harrelson and his personal eco-ethics. I heard about this because my boyfriend is wildly obsessed with this movie and looks up every piece published about the flick, so when he saw the green slant, he let me know. Wondering if Zombieland is actually a green movie I did some searching and found the following...

  • Sony Pictures, the company behind Zombieland does indeed have sustainability protocol that appears to be developing and improving over time.
  • Actor Woody Harrelson did indeed have a sustainable wardrobe for the flim. No word on what the rest of the cast was wearing.
  • The set had some eco-friendly standards such as they banned plastic water bottles and biodegradable plates and utensils were used.
  • Woody convinced director Ruben Fleischer to go vegetarian for the duration of the shoot.

Si it does appear Zombieland made some decent earth friendly choices - does it make it a green movie? Maybe not 100% but at least we're hearing about some actual green choices the director, crew and actors made. With Avatar, it's known that the director is eco-friendly, but I haven't heard much about the set and crew and such being green.

Have you heard of any other eco-friendly movies lately?

PS I thought Zombieland was really good - funny and scary and not at all boring. Fast paced too - I hate sitting through movies too, so coming from me, it's a good review :) I think it comes out on Feb 1 or 2 if you haven't seen it.

An article came out yesterday mentioning "Zombieland".  It was about another subject (Reak Estate Foreclosures) so my first thought was about how ecologically benificial that could be; then I read further- oh! you meant a movie!  Thanks for the humorous confusion :-D!
