A new book by Stewart Brand - http://www.greenbiz.com/blog/2010/01/05/why-stewart-brands-new-book-must-read?page=0,0&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:%20greenbiz/energy-climate%20(Energy%20%2526%20Climate%20|%20%20Greenbiz.com)

From Greenbiz - 'For those of you (younger readers) who aren’t familiar with his work, Stewart, who is a vigorous 72-year-old, is best known as the editor of Whole Earth Catalog, an influential compendium of all things countercultural, published in the late 1960s and 1970s, with a photo of the earth seen from space on its cover.

One paragraph of the review that caught my eye,'On biotech food, Stewart is characteristically blunt:
I daresay the environmental movement has done more harm with its opposition to genetic engineering than with any other thing we’ve been wrong about. We’ve starved people, hindered science, hurt the natural environment and denied our own practitioners a crucial tool.'

Finding the book here may be a bit of a problem but I will try.
