This might be complicated but what about a category for DIY stuff? For example I made my own composting barrel and rain barrel, and I'm also planning on making my own LED under cabinet lighting.

 

I'm not sure how this would work in the products section, maybe it's just better to make a wiki on how to build this stuff yourself?

The wikis are a perfect place for DIYs.  We have this one started for rain barrels, but since you've made one it'd be great to get your expertise on there.  We also have this one for homemade cleaning products/personal care recipes.

This is exactly the type of thing we had in mind when we built in all the wiki functionality. Really looking forward to seeing your stuff.

 

Still, down the line it might be fun to give them a separate category so people can review them and sort of have a competition of who's DIY solutions rate the best...
