Mission Impossible?!? Can A Die-Hard Greenie Generate 0% Garbage In a 24 Hour Period?

Please take a moment to read all about the mini zero tolerance garbage experiment that I recently launched in my household -- perhaps you may be inspired to try something like this in your own home...but tread with caution.

Granted, it was merely a day long scientific study and since I'm already an avid recycler, the chances of little ol' me generating even a scrap of garbage...well, how HARD could it be?

Have you ever tried to do this? How successful were you? Do you believe that any of us can ever reduce our waste stream to zero?

It's confusing to generate zero waste - i.e. like your toilet paper thought in the post. Does it count? No, yes? I liked No Impact Man, but I think my problem with it was sort of along these lines - it's not realistic for most people to generate zero waste - or I guess to expect them to. I personally think it's a good idea, but I also think that a greener way to go is to get people overall to generate less rather than a few people to generate zero.

100% agreed Jennifer - the idea is to show, push, pull, guide people to a better way.

The idea is not to scare people off with unrealistic ideas or actions.
