sodium percarbonate(oxygen bleach) wood siding cleaner

Getting ready to restain our cedar siding house. I've read that oxygen bleach is better for cleaning the cedar as it will actually kill mold/algae/mildew by getting to the "roots".  Is that true?  TSP is a good cleaner, but it wont kill mold/algae/mildew. Chlorine bleach is bad for the wood and doesnt penetrate to kill the "roots".    Any comments on this?

My second question is:  How can I make my own oxygen bleach solution suitable for cleaning cedar siding?

Looking around on the net - I found a site http://www.using-hydrogen-peroxide.com/sodium-percarbonate.html

It turns out that sodium percarbonate is the dry form of hydrogen peroxide.

From what I read it is quite safe (as far as anything concentrated goes) and good for many things.

It is available in powder form and you can 'mix your own'.  The link gives sources for the powder.

Oxygen bleach may kill mold on hard surfaces or in a lab but when I tested it the mold came back within two weeks.

 

I used it on wood outside. Instead of Bleach and TSP which definitely kills mold deep in the wood. 

 

Perhaps if it was a stronger mix or something was added it would kill the mold down in the wood but it didn't. 

 

The other problem with Cedar is that it has high tannic acid content. The only thing I've ever used that kills the mold deep in the wood and takes care of the tannic acid in cedar is Lime Clean from Earthpaint.net. That stuff did the job and the mold never came back.
