Battery Information

I came across a site with some good information on batteries for anyone interested in that type of thing. More information about batteries and types of batteries that I had thought possible.

Thanks Russ, very interesting and informative for me.  Great to know the light blinking off are what are what a charger is supposed to do meaning a full charge.  Using 3 computer power sources and an external fast charger makes for confusing LED lights.  Meters gave up last year- those batteries do very well, but will not hold a charge over a few days.

 Hi Chris,

You are welcome - Three more battery related URL's - I got these on Solar Panel Talk

Battery info URL’s

http://www.windsun.com/Batteries/Battery_FAQ.htm (short & sweet)
http://www.batteryfaq.org/ (very large)
http://www.smartgauge.co.uk/batt_con.html (connect batteries on diagonal, + )

All show some different aspect of batteries - The more I learn it seems the less I know!

Thanks again Russ.  The possible battery life-span is very interesting (1-6 marine, 1-7 golf carts)  I do not know for sure about my batteries since I have somewhat overused them, but they still work, so maybe they will last a while!

A super site for information on batteries. The blogger, Venkat Srinivasan, is a scientist/engineer at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Berkley.  http://thisweekinbatteries.blogspot.com/

Venkat Srinivasan's research interest is in understanding electrochemical systems.  He works with a team of researchers at the Lawrence Berkley National Lab as part of the Batteries for Advanced Transportation Technologies (BATT) program, involved in solving the multitude of problems that prevent lithium-ion batteries from being used in electric-, hybrid-electric, and plug-in-hybrid-electric vehicles. BATT is funded by the US DOE as part of the Vehicle Technologies program.  Venkat’s interest is in combining electrochemical experimentation on controlled geometries with continuum models to understand problems.

Good detailed information in an understandable form and one can ask questions if they wish.
