Piaggo Hybrid Scooter

 Although completely unusable for me, this vehicle seems to be upgrading:

It is nearly impossible to get onto that seat from a wheelchair!

Slight problem having no balance and a back like a noodle but I am a 3-wheeler fan!

Huh, that is very interesting. Vectrix was planning something similar for a while, just fully electric. It was going to be called the Vectrix V3 Electric Three Wheeler. But a while back, Vectrix took all their info about the bike off their website (originally it was supposed to be available in 2008). They were planning on licensing the technology from Piaggio's MP3.

Stins talked to a guy from Vectrix, I think he said they were waiting to see if there was demand for Piaggio's gas MP3. Well, looks like Piaggio took it upon themselves to bring a hybrid to market. Definitely would reduce the demand for a fully electric version, I would guess.

I can't decide if I like those Piaggio MP3s or not.  I saw one (gas version) on the freeway the other day and I have to admit, he didn't look very stable among all the cars (but maybe I'm just not used to seeing such thin wheels on a motorcycle type machine).  But cool they're coming out with a hybrid.  The article Chris Jordan linked to says,

If i'm doing the math right that's about 141 miles per gallon.  Well...it's more like 141.1 miles per gallon.  If we're being picky.

Piaggio's MP3 Hybrid 3-wheeler was the world's first plug-in hybrid scooter. Having hybrid scooter does make things easier.
