Hyperion Reactor

 Not exactly renewable but maybe part of the mix - if it is real and works! Anybody know anything about it?

Hm....I don't know much about it, but it was mentioned in a post on the NY Times blog Green Inc. the other day!

Hyperion especially has lots of work to do before even applying for certification, Mr. Burnell said. “They are essentially at square one.”

I don't know much about it either. I'm in New Mexico, though, pretty close to Los Alamos, where the reactor was conceived. People here are concerned about the pollution that would result from extracting the radioactive ore--not to mention the disposal of the spent nuclear fuel. Those issues would need to be addressed before people here could rest easy.
