hybrids (non plug-in)

i totally agree with dana1981 that the Prius deserves to be on top --though i'm admittedly biased because i really love driving my 2007 model. first time i've seen this sort of ranking where they consider fuel efficiency AND base price (MSRP) of the vehicle in assigning a ranking (i.e. it's 'green' meets pragmatic). i think this is really valuable, as i've heard many people express hesitation about buying hybrid cars due to cost...this type of ranking begins to address such concerns. actually, i've wondered why there is this common misperception that hybrid vehicles are prohibitively expensive, relative to standard vehicles...thoughts?
