We're starting a local volunteer movement/nonprofit organization to replace lawns with organic edible gardens landscaped with native drought-resistant plants. Our plan will also create new jobs: we hope to start a certificated training program to test and bio-renew soil and create sustainable, food-producing yards. We will NOT be reinventing the wheel--we want to involve as many local non-profits, green businesses and community organizations as we can.
