I bought some solar lights at Wally's World for 4.00 each. Any good? I figured that if the power went out...I could go out to the yard and grab one of these lights and have some cheap and ready emergency lights...crazy idea???

Actually, the "bring 'em in the house when the power goes out" is not a bad idea at all - i've done it! We rarely have had a power outage in my area - maybe 3 or 4 times in 12 years... and probably less than 6 hours each time.
The last time I had my under cabnet rechargeable LED puck-lights in my kitchen and family room entertainment center on, some candles (of course), camping lanterns, and finally - I brought in one of my garden solar panels that is the type that has 3 LED spot lights strung to it. I had some extra (thus clean) spot lights in the garage I hooked up to it. They lit my whole entry/stairway area very nicely. Only house on the street with something other than candles and flashlights going!

Hah! That's too cool! If it happens again, you'll have to snap a picture. It'd be fun to see it!

They are actually pretty decent. I bought the same ones awhile back until I got more permanent outdoor lighting. They worked great and were easily removable but make sure you have them in the ground good enough.
We do not have a Wal-Mart in our county, but I got a set of 4 solar garden lights at Rite-Aid store in a clearance sale box. I am hopeful that these will be good. Apartments are not always sunny all day on my side of the building here, so I plan to wait until I move to a larger condominium being rebuilt now.
