Forbes: Denmark, which has a carbon cap, is “the best country for business in the world”

Bad news for the denier talking point that a carbon cap and investment in renewable energy hurts the economy.  From Climate Progress:

 Forbes magazine has given progressive advocates of climate action a terrific talking point:  The “best country for business in the world” — for two years running — is uber-green Denmark.

{...}

Indeed, [Niocolas] Müller [hey, I know that guy!] notes the “big irony” in his email:

The country N°1 in their list is Denmark which has spent plenty of money in renewables, is covered by a cap and trade system, has one of the most stringent emission targets, taxes cars 100% or more, and has globally one of the most constraining environmental regulatory framework.

I think most reasonable people have known that the need for energy will not decrease dramatically, therefore other sources would immediately step up to fill the void left by gas and oil industries.  It's pretty basic supply and demand.

Energy wise the Danes were pretty well screwed by who ever distributed natural resources -  not much oil or gas if any not to mention a long cold winter. Never heard about coal there either I don't believe - at least in recent years.

I guess they would have to be one of the earlier groups onboard 'the save your ass express'.

Pretty place in the spring with lots of history behind it. In Copenhagen I kept seeing English words mixed in with Danish on signs etc. A day later while looking at a map of the Danish conquests years back I realized those were Danish words in the English language - left over from when they over ran the UK.

Don't understimate the power of a few dumb rants from glenn beck on how a cap and trade bill is Socialist.

You'll have the teabaggers of Dick Armey out on the streets calling Obama hitler, mussolini, etc.

I suppose they have a point. Nazis were against smoking and killed innocent people and Obama is against smoking AND CLIMATE CHANGE LEGISLATION so it means Obama wants to kill Jews.
