Recycling your old Mac...turn it into a couch

So according to Bradlands, it looks like the Mac Store in Maryland Heights, Missouri made a "couch" (a very hard one...maybe more of a bench) out of 20 Macintosh II computers:

Now that is seriously electronics recycling!

Well that is not very comfy looking. But if they used duct tape they could put it out at Bart for more seating.

Add some cushions and you may have something there! It could be a cute conversation piece for a lobby or college campus....sitting on a piece of "technological history"!

That couch is cool!  I like the idea. You can always put some comfy pillows down. At least those computers didn't end up in a landfill somewhere.

I have two old computers out of use, at least one stored in my garage. Old computers, printers and other hardware are not suitable for landfill, yet there are few places to recycle. I did take an old wide carriage dot matrix printer to Goodwill and they likely got it recycled. Not enough info available about getting old elctronic items including cellphones and regular phones recycled.

I am finding it difficult to find a place to recycle vinyl siding pieces and scrap. Here in South Carolina it seems the option is to dig a deep hole and bury it. Things like that and home insulation probably go into landfills. along with those new energy saving fluorescent bulbs that replace incandescent bulbs. Those bulbs are said to contaminate the earth and are not to be disposed of in your trash, yet there are no recycling facilities for them.  How smart is that??
Well, at least I can recycle aluminum cans, glass jars, paper.
