We as a nation spend billions of dollars a year on organic food products. The primary reason for eating organic foods is to avoid consuming the harmful chemicals used to grow and preserve the crops. For the meat-eaters in society, we choose meats that are raised without the harmful growth hormones or antibiotics. Chemicals like chlorine, lead, mercury, formaldehyde (just to name a few) taint the very food that is suppose to provide us with sustenance for life. We go to great lengths purchasing foods free of these chemicals, but yet, we still consume these harmful chemicals. The sad truth, we consume them without realizing it.
The average person uses 9 skin care products a day. Yes gentlemen, even us. Think about this. What products do you use in the shower? How about when you shave? Do you use cologne? What chemicals are you exposing your body to? Think about this . . . your skin is the largest organ of the body. Shouldn't we be taking the same care with what we put on our skin as we do with what we put in our body. The skin absorbs what you put on it. If you are having trouble believing that statement, think about the nicotine patches. How do they work? Incredible when you think about it.
There are hundreds of companies out there that use fancy words like spa quality botanicals to try to convince you to purchase their product. Unfortunately, many of these products are no better than the store brands. It is important to look for companies that sell certified organic or 100% organic skin care products. You can be assured that you will be getting the best products and avoiding the harmful chemicals too.
As always, be sure to research the products. Test them out and use the one's that work best for you. One word of caution with organic skin products (as with any product) . . . Be sure to check the ingredient list as there may be an organic component that you may be allergic reaction to.
