What is a PV system?

Perhaps a wiki page for each acronym so that people can just link to them in useful articles like this one.

I'm guessing that PV stands for Photo-Voltaic or something that means Solar Powered, since this wiki is in that section...

PV does stand for photovoltaic.  Here are the first few sentences from Wikipedia:

Photovoltaics, or PV for short, is a technology that converts light directly into electricity. Photovoltaics is also the field of study relating to this technology and there are many research institutes devoted to work on photovoltaics.[1][2] Due to the growing need for solar energy, the manufacture of solar cells and solar photovoltaic array has expanded dramatically in recent years.[3][4][5] Photovoltaic production has been doubling every two years, increasing by an average of 48 percent each year since 2002, making it the world’s fastest-growing energy technology.

We definitely do need a general intro to solar wiki - we have a few on pretty specific topics (e.g. PV selection, tilting your solar collector, and financial considerations).  Perhaps one of our users wants to start it off?

Looks like Deej took the lead on that Intro to Solar wiki.
