Recycling CFLs -- why it's important!

Great wiki posted on recycling CFLs.  They're such a great product -- enviro conscious, and also more acutely beneficial in terms of reducing your energy consumption/bill! -- but they do have one hitch, and that is their containing some mercury (please see link to NPR story below).  This isn't detrimental at all, as long as they're properly disposed of/recycled.  Thanks for posting these great tips on how to do this effectively!

 Good post.  CFL's in fact due contain mercury that make them harmful in large numbers if disposed of improperly.  If you are lucky enough to live near an IKEA (IKEA ROCKS!)  they will properly recycle expired CFLs.  Additionally, many municipalities have recycling/disposal programs that will take CFL's.

CFLs are a wonderful first step in applying green ideas to everyday living.  With some simple precautions, we can prevent their few downsides to taint their continued use.
