poor to very poor

Pros: easy to install and connect

Cons: doesn't produce much power

Even iin higher winds, it didn't produce significant power, although it responded well in lower winds. When connected along with other products, such as solar panels, it doesn't produce after the panels are producing a higher charging rate. A panel of 300 watts produces more charging power than this unit. My panels produce over 12 amps of charging power.   It is produced in China, so there is no technical or parts support, no warranty of any kind. When something quits, the only choice is to replace the turbine or the controller, no one at Windmax knows enough to separate the faulty unit from the other. Their advice is to replace one or the other to try to elimate the problem.

serious problems with the regulator controller. The controller connect the Dump charge at 13.2 or 26.4volts , then the battery is never full charged

Pros: cheap , good construction

Cons: bad information ,the controller circuit is out ,never receive an answer from seller.

magnet4less is the provider , never I received an answer about the controller problem. The controller have not any point of calibration. the controller not charges the battery at standard charge voltages. The upper limit is 13.2 , or 26.4 volts , then the regulator connect the dump charge. The normal is 14 or 28 volts. The  provider only sell boxes , is not connected with the buyer. Now the 3 generator that I bought are stoped. I am designing other controller circuit.

Lack of data

Pros: cheap

Cons: lack of data to evaluate the turbine plus misinformation

On the Windmax web site http://greenpower4less.com/index.html there is no power curve shown. The power ratings given are for 26 to 29 mph winds which are a storm condition and seen a very small percentage of the time. Output at the more typical 12 mph wind speeds (if one is lucky as not all locations have that) the output would be virtually nil. The low speed startup is meaningless as at 3 m/s (6.7 mph) there is very little power in the wind to capture. Claims of the advantages of 5 blades vs the usual 3 are not supported by science.
