I have owned my own service company for nearly 30 years. I have been on numerous calls for multiple manufacturers of boilers. They all have one thing in common. If they are not installed properly, they will have issues. The new technology associated with a high effeciency products requires that the installer have a deep understanding of how heating systems truly work. Too many people are quick tp blame the product for system or installation issues. I have a Weil-McLain ultra boiler in my house and it never skips a beat. I clean and service it yearly and it is installed exactly per specifications. There a 5 supply houses within easy driving distance of my shop that carry both parts and product. Something about this review does not seem right. I can call my Weil-McLain rep and he gets back to me within hours and he has certainly never lied to me. They are the most reputable company I have ever dealt with and that is the reason I have installed their products, problem free, for over 30 years. If I were you and are still having problems, I would consider a new contractor, new distributor or both. Just my .02
If you have installed these for years you would have run into all the common problems these people are talking about. The inducer that is used on the Munchkin and Weil mclain are the same and are hit or miss. I just replaced one that was only 3 years old cost of the part is around 500 bucks. I remember when you could buy a whole gas boiler for around 1100.00. So I can relate to why customers are so unhappy. The only way to get any results for bad parts is call Weil Mclain direct most reps dodge your calls. Call the Weil Mclin office in Michigan and tell tech support what the problem is. I had an F.W.Webb salesman try to get me a part for weeks, I made one call to the factory and they sent it right out to me no charge. Munchkin had its problems also most with the same inducer. When they first started here on the market the inducers would start out on high fire and ramp down, they since changed that so the inducer starts on low and ramps up. This did cure alot of the issues but there are still some that just plain die.
