Pros: comfortable interior all around, quiet
Cons: gas milege is not as high as expected due to 5 cyc
This is my first review here. Hi all!
I got the 06' version of the very same car. Best trim model with 16 inch alloys, Continental tires. This car has Electronic traction control! It's safer if you have it on in winter! You can manually turn that off if you want aggressive driving. This car runs pretty good with just stock performance. 6-speed +/- automatic is far superior than any model of its class for this price range. The manual transmission is standard, however it's only 5-speed.
This is a 5 cylinder car, it consumes a bit more gases than 4 cylinder vehicles, not a whole lot. It produces more torque in return. I believe it's about 170 which is exceptionally good for the size of a car like this.
The body is laser wielded all around. German engineered in everything except the transmission is from Japan. VW knows what drivers need not only performance and look, but also 'safety'. This is the safest car you'll get out there with the price you're paying for. Go to their official site and find out why. I give you a hint 'airbags'. :)
8 speakers audio system. 3-band adjustable EQ.
I've always wanted to get a Golf, later found out VW is pulling out this Rabbit. This is the third car that I made a test drive in 06 (Corolla, Civic, Rabbit). Japanese cars' driveability are far less than Euro cars. You'll know it when you steer, accelerate. Euro cars are one notch higher if you consider driveability first, before Eco. It worths your money for all the electronic system in your Rabbit.
Oh I love hatchback small cars. Great for moving and grocery. I swear I won't get a coupe or sedan.
