VeeV Acai Spirit

Posted

Pros: Made sustainably, light in flavor

Cons: Basically restricted to mixing with sweet stuff

VeeV acai spirit is sometimes thought of as a vodka replacement...sometimes as a liqueur.  It's not really either.  It's a clear spirit, made from wheat and flavored with acai, prickly pear, cactus, and cherry.  And you can definitely taste that frutiness in it.

If you're going to drink it straight, it's not as "bad" as vodka.  In fact, for those who aren't super keen on the alcohol-bite, it's actually pretty easy to drink (and on the whole, I'd put myself in that group...I'm not one for vodka on the rocks...).  I prefer to drink it blended personally.  But...you probably want to keep it limited to something sweet.  That's where the VeeV flavors work best, I think.  It'd be a little weird to use VeeV in your bloody mary.  It's not terribly cheap (not by Karkov or Popov standards), but it's also not unreasonable.  I'd certainly buy it again (and in fact, I just bought my second bottle a few days ago).

VeeV Acai Spirit
Description:

VeeV is the World's First Acai Spirit, and is simply a better way to drink. Acai is the exotic-tasting, Brazilian national fruit containing 57% more antioxidants than pomegranates or blueberries, and 30 times more heart-healthy anthocyanins than red wine. VeeV fuses this exotic berry with 100% all-natural ingredients, fulfilling consumers' desire to enjoy the night without losing the next day. VeeV is the first alcohol company to become certified carbon neutral, and also the first spirits company to donate $1 per bottle sold towards green initiatives that protect the Brazilian Rainforest (specifically The Sustainable Acai Project).
