Pros: Bright and even, incandescent-like light, easy fit in fixtures with its thin neck, elegant heat sink design, reasonably priced comparing to others
Cons: Initial cost is high to replace all lights at once,
Bought this in a local hardware store. The store clerk turned it on to show me the light quality and I liked it. Also I have a lot confidence in Cree chips in LEDs.
I installed in a recessed can in the kitchen and it brightened up comparing to the other CFL PARs I have in the kitchen. The light quality is very good and close to the halogen and incandescent light.
The best thing is it does not need to 'warm up' before it reaches its full brightness. It is a sharp contrast to the CFLs I have in the kitchen which always reqire 30 seconds or longer to 'warm up'.
Price wise, initial cost is high but not as bad as the PAR30 LED I found in the stores. I am waiting for a kind of promotion online so I can get a few more to replace the CFLs in kitchen.
BTW, I also tried it in my goose neck reading lamp and it fits nicely. The only thing is the goose neck must be sturdy enough otherwise the weight of the heat my pull it down a little.
