* Refreshing natural flavor. Real flavor oils, not artificial sweeteners like saccharin, leave your mouth feeling clean and fresh.
* Fights cavities. Naturally sourced fluoride remineralizes soft spots on teeth before they turn into cavities.
* Controls tartar. Zinc citrate, a naturally occurring mineral, interferes with the calcification of plaque into tartar.
* Gentle whitening. Natural silica (derived from sand) improves cleaning and gently whitens without bleaching ingredients or harsh abrasives.

User Reviews: Tom's of Maine Natural Whole Care Toothpaste
Cons: Doesn't leave you quite so minty fresh
Yes. That's right. It's not blue and sparkly and it doesn't taste like bubble gum. But I'm okay with that. It certainly does the trick in getting your teeth nice and clean. This toothpaste doesn't leave you feeling gritty or slimy at all. It's a nice consistency and doesn't foam excessively so you don't end up with toothpaste all over your face (and on your pjs). The whitening factor is definitely not as noxious as your traditional pastes and what not but it seems to do it's job over time (although it could just be changing the lights in my bathroom that did it...who knows). The only thing I miss is that minty fresh kick.
Cons: well, it isn't really natural
When I first decided to go green, I thought this would be a great way to get there. Unfortunately, I didn't know much about the ingredients yet at that time. As I learned which ingredients were safe and which weren't, I found out that I was wrong about Tom's of Maine being a good green brand. Sadly, this one turned out to be fake.
Cons: SLS
I stop and get this in Kennebunk at the Tom's shop....dinged toothpaste tubes for 2 bucks a whack. So we buy 6 or 8 at a time. Tastes great...love the flavors. Only drawback...possibly...is the SLS.
Great toothpaste with a good taste, though the texture may take a little getting used to...if so, try the gel.
