Pros: works, smells nice, seems good

I use this product and I liked it. I haven't had any problems and my dishes come out as clean if not cleaner than with some other cleansers. The smell is great and the use is of course just as easy as any other.

Pros: smells great

Cons: residue on dishes

I just bought this detergent and I really am not too satisfied with it.  It smelled great but I found that it left a residue on my dishes.  I had to use more than my normal soap to get the dishes really clean.  I will probably try something else next time.  However, I love 7th Gen dish soap!

Didn't clean well

Pros: Smelled good

Cons: Dishes still dirty

Maybe we didn't have the best dishwasher in our apartment, but unless I pre-rinsed my dishes, they didn't get completely cleaned using this product. This was especially the case with glasses that we drank chocolate soymilk in- there would still be soymilk reside in the bottom of the glass. One day if I had a new dishwasher, I would probably try it again. But with the machine we had, I had to switch to a chemical-based dishwasher soap. Their handwashing dish soap works great though!

Not as good as hoped

Pros: Safe, good smell, works on dishes

Cons: Does not work well on silverware

I had already tried and loved Seventh Generation's Free and Clear Dish Soap. It worked better than any other dish soap I've used, so I had high hopes for their Dishwasher Detergent.  Sadly, I am completely disappointed in Seventh Generation's Automatic Dishwasher Gel.  It does not seem to clean my silverware and it sometimes misses on my dishes as well, if some fails to rinse the dish extremely well before it goes into the dishwasher.  I now have to spend extra time, extra soap and extra water re-cleaning dishes and silverware.  And don't get me wrong, I'm very particular about loading the dishwasher; making sure spoons aren't "spooning" one another; seeing that dishes are well rinsed as...

Not too impressed...

Pros: Eco-friendly, can be found at regular stores (ie: Target), occasional coupons available.

Cons: Leaves film, doesn't clean heavily soiled pots...

I was happy to find this product in several local stores such as my Target and Fred Meyers.  It's price is middle of the road and I liked that the prodect was gel form.  Nevertheless, its cleaning power was rathere disappointing.  It never cleaned a "full" load of dishes very well, film was left on most everything, and food bits were commonly found on the dishes etc.  I have had much better luck with Ecover tablets and have hear that CitraSolve does a good job as well.

Did not get my dishes clean

Posted

Pros: green

Cons: did not work

Maybe be cause we have harder water here in the Midwest, but this product did not get my dishes clean in the dishwaser. I ended up pitching it.  Also, we used it in our brand new Bosh dishwasher so it was not the dishwasher.

Hooray! No nasty chemical smell!

Pros: Pleasant, not overpowering smell; toddler safe

Cons: Won't remove old crusted on food (but what does?)

Not only is it better for the planet, but it's safer for a household with a curious toddler in residence. Although 7th Gen. may not sandblast the dishes, it does a really wonderful job. I have used other detergent in the past year, and was struck by the way that smelled, as well as the not so delightful burning sensation in my nose and eyes while the dishwasher was running. Not so with this- just lovely lemon or gentle green apple.

Dominates Cascade

Posted

Pros: Dominates Cascade, super clean, doesn't take much

Here at Huddler we're a tight little family - we spend a lot of hours together and as a result create a dirty dish or two. We had one of those mondo-Costco sized Cascade dish detergent bottles that just wouldn't die, but it finally did and we unceremoniously trashed it and grabbed some Seventh Gen. This stuff rocks our collective socks. One of our developers has a penchant for eating bowls of frozen blueberries - this leaves a serious purple film all over dishes. We all eat a lot of cereal and dried Honey Bunches of Oats don't come of easily, but they are no match for Seventh Gen. The dishes are cleaner than ever and we hardly use any of it in each load. Great product.
