Pros: Might work as a paperweight
Cons: pure BS
Doesn't work, couldn't work, won't work....sorry Cynthia. This is based on a valid theory used in large industrial applications, but it will not save a nickel on a residential electric bill. The demonstration is very convincing to the lay person, but it's "smoke and mirrors". I'm an electrical engineer...I know from what I speak. It's sad that companies like this prey on the good intentions of honest people....

Pros: good only to the party selling it
Cons: The concept has no engineering or science to support it

This type of item claims to do what is impossible.

Pros: It does not consume electricity and has a life expectancy of 10 years. It does not have to be installed by an electrician and is small and unobstrusiv
Cons: people don't believe that it works, but capacators have been in use in industrial settings for years reducing the overall consumption

The general consensus by the members here at GreenOptions who know a lot about the technical side of electricity is that the PowerGuard is a scam.

Also, the only things "Cynthia" has contributed to the GreenOptions community are this review and two forum posts on how wonderful the Powerguard is...

This product has worked in my home. I am also a serious conservationalist, reducing my carbon footprint where ever possible but new technology always seems to be suspect. Before I purchased it, I saw it tested on a mini household panel board and was skeptical prior to that. The real test was in my KW/Day consumption which has also been reduced on a consistant basis over the past three years, (I compared my consumption on my power bill from the years before I bought the item.)
