Pros: Cleans well with no irritating chemicals, biodegrades
Cons: Must pre-treat for horrible stains; hard to see lines in cap
I am a big fan of Planet's Powdered laundry detergent because it really cleans my stinky sports clothing (like poly pro and polyester) without bothering my skin. I saw a good review of Planet 2X HE on a cloth diapering website, so I tried it. I am really happy with Planet 2x HE, it works great, about neck and neck with their powdered detergent.
Planet 2X HE is free of ingredients like perfumes, dyes and other stuff that give me rashes. It is biodegradable. You can use it for either the new High Efficiency machines or regular old washing machines (which I have). It’s concentrated, so it takes less than regular detergent – just follow the directions.
Two possible negatives: You might have to pre-treat really tough stains like grass, grease, blood, red wine etc. Or use a mainstream detergent that contains nasty chemicals. But for 99 per cent of my laundry, Planet 2x HE does a great job. Also, it can be a little hard to see the lines inside the cap, which is annoying. So I colored the lines with a permanent marker and that helps.
Otherwise, Planet 2X HE liquid laundry detergent is right up there with my other fave, Planet Ultra Powdered Laundry Detergent.
