Pros: lots of light, lots of energy savings
Cons: won't fit a lot of table lamps

Bought from www.e3living.com. Great selection of Neptun products. Did you know that Neptun products use amalgam technology which makes them safer to use should they break.

Pros: Efficient and long lasting
Cons: Can't put on a dimmer switch. Flickers in some multiple bulb fixtures... like my ceiling fan.

These are an easy and inexpensive upgrade that will save a little power and a some money in the long run. Generally these kind bulbs aren't that great for outdoor use or anywhere you flick the light on for a second (like a closet) because they take a little while to reach full brightness. The neptune lights have fixed that problem making the bulbs good anywhere. I'm am really interested in the newer led bulbs that are supposedly more efficient on energy and you can use a dimmer switch with them.
