Cute biodegradable loofa for cleaning home and body
JenniferChait reviewed October 29, 2009 at 12:10 pm
I recently got a cute little Loofah Art- Eggplant from ECOBAGS - these are made by Loofah Art. and would make super cute little stocking stuffers this holiday season.

You can use the adorable little loofahs for cleaning fruits and veggies, washing dishes, scrubbing in the tub with organic body soap and more cleaning projects. The cost is a super great - just $4 a pop - you can easily afford plenty of these to stuff into stockings or give as nice little gifts at a shower or party.

Loofah Art kitchen scrubbers are eco-friendly, naturally grown and processed, made with 100% natural veggie dye, and will 100% biodegrade when you're done with it. My scrubber came attached to post-consumer recycled paper cardboard packaging and the loofah was attached with a string not plastic.

Loofah Art states that these scrubbers are, “Gentle enough to scrub fruits and vegetables but tough enough to clean dirty dishes and stubborn pots and pans.” but I don’t agree.

The best use I found for my scrubber was for cleaning veggies. It got carrots and potatoes very clean, but on super soiled pots, I had to scrub and scrub, and they still were not perfectly clean. One nice point is that the non-scratch fibers of the scrubber won’t scratch the following: woods, glass, plastics, gel coats, vinyl, canvas, rubber, aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass, counter-stove tops, appliances, microwave ovens, cooled down grills, and all delicate nonstick surfaces BUT the non-scratch fibers also are not that handy on tough messes.

My loofah is purple and I rinsed it before use as recommended. Even so it still releases a bit of color into the water when I use it, but because the dye is natural vegetable dye, and non-toxic I’m not that concerned, and it doesn’t stain at all, not even my white sink.

Another cool thing about Loofa Art is that after use (and you smashing it all over a pot) the loofa retains its shape. I also like the attached string so you can hang it in the shower or sink easily. Lastly I like all the design and color choices. Loofa Art comes in tons of beautiful and adorable designs and colors, perfect for gifts. I'd recommend this product for everything but very stubbornly dirty pots.
