LiViTY Power Fleece Hoodie - Women's

Pros: Made from bamboo and recycled plastic bottles, nice hood, soft, has thumb holes

Can I just say...I love my Livity Power Fleece Hoodie.  I do.  I was poking around a cute little eco-boutique in Santa Cruz, CA a few weeks ago and there it was...this great green hoodie...with thumb holes.  Yes, I love the thumb holes.  And then, low and behold, after my initial excitement of finding something with the elusive thumb hole, the hoodie is made of bamboo and recycled plastic bottles!  It was meant to be.  Some might even say a match made in heaven.

I wandered around the rest of the store, "debating" if I was going to buy it, but I was already sold.  Several weeks into my romance with my hoodie...I still love it.  It's really cozy and amazingly soft.  The pockets are great and in terms of style (beyond the thumb holes), it's got some nice little detailing including the little livity symbol kind of near the hip.

In terms of sizing, I typically wear a medium, but the power fleece medium was a tad snug across the chest region, so I opted for a large, so keep that in mind if you're ordering online or something.

It's still a wee bit expensive for a hoodie, but compared with the original price tag of $165 for the Pursuit of Harmony hoodie...$68 is pretty good.

In any case, at the end of the day, I love my Livity hoodie.  And I'd for sure recommend it.

Conventional clothing is killing our habitat: The Textile Industry is one of the most polluting industries on earth, second only to the Petrochemical Industry. Refining crude oil into synthetic Nylons materials creates some of the worst forms of pollution, the traditional dyes used are loaded with heavy metals that are especially harmful to human beings, animals, and our habitat. Commercial Cotton is rapidly destroying farm land, and contributing to the poisoning of waterways around the world. One commercial cotton T-shirt requires over 2 pounds of toxic pesticides be applied to the earth. Due to these facts, wearing traditional clothing made using conventional toxic textiles is directly related to ecological destruction. The best way to avoid having our clothing contribute to an early grave for humankind is to choose sustainable/organic alternatives to these toxic traditional materials. The alternative to clothes made from Toxic Textiles can now be found readily available. Sustainable garments and accessories are now being made using Organic Cotton, Hemp, Recycled Plastics, Bamboo, Soy, Flax, Linen Wool, Silk, and other natural fibers . The Livity Textile Lab is experimenting constantly with both ancient and new emerging fibers to develop the textiles of the future.
