From the publishers…

This holiday season, Anna Getty—environmental advocate, writer, television personality, chef, mother, and organic living expert—helps families reduce their carbon footprint and save money without sacrificing style or tradition. Anna advises how to best choose a tree (real or fake?), mitigate the negative effects of necessary travel, recycle post-holiday, and more. She shares favorite holiday recipes for organic appetizers and homemade craft ideas such as pinecone wreaths and recycled sweater pillows. With inspiring photographs, extensive resources, and advice from the “Lazy Environmentalist” Josh Dorfman, Seventh Generation’s Jeffrey Hollender, and other leading eco-experts, families might just find that these tips help them stay green all year long.

Pros: great tips packed into a beautiful book about how your family can celebrate a greener Christmas
Cons: Not enough kid friendly recipes
This is a wonderful holiday book for green families. Anna Getty has packed a perfectly friendly style and easy green holiday tips for families into a gorgeous package of a book.

Covered topics include green Christmas decor, tree trimmings, holiday recipes, easy to make eco-crafts, homemade gifts plus other greener gift ideas, eco-friendly gift wrap, and how to celebrate Christmas with more meaning. Also included are tips from very well known green experts, energy saving ideas, and an excellent resource section.

The book is printed on recycled content paper and is so lovely you won't believe your eyes. All the crafts are easy but still look professional and pretty and the tone of the book is easy and personable, not preachy. Kids and adults will find lots to love in this book.

The only downsides is that there is no digital downloads available (that I found) and I think the recipes run more adult than kid friendly. But, I also have a picky eight year old at home.

Overall a super holiday book to check out at the library or to buy. Watch the video below to learn more...
