Pros: Works FAST, Heals, does not dry out the skin
Cons: Hard to squeeze out of the tube
After trying several things out on the market (Desitin, Boudreaux's etc.) to help with my daughters teething rash, I was about to give up on rash cream all together. It seemed like many were making my daughter's rash worse and over drying her skin to the point where her little bum felt like paper.
Then I decide to give this ointment a try because I had read in this Wiki greenhome.huddler.com/wiki/natural-ways-to-heal-and-prevent-nappy-rash that Calendula works wonders, and that is the first ingredient listed on the tube. I also liked the fact that there was no Zinc in it, as I believe that was the cause of the over drying.
After only 1 diaper change her rash had almost completely disappeared. By the second diaper change her soft, peach skin was back! This was the first time that one of her rashes had ever gone away that quickly. I also used this in conjunction with greenhome.huddler.com/products/gentle-care-cheeky-clean-diaper-area-cleanser. I think between the 2, it is definitely a winning combination.
It is a little hard to squeeze out of the tube, but it's SO worth the extra effort.
Special Note for Cloth Diaper Mama's: Don't forget to use a cloth (like a wash cloth) as a barrier between your baby & the diaper, to prevent repelancy issues with your diapers. The oils in this product can and will block absorbency in the microfibers.
