This is an OK book for a beginner, but I didn't find it that useful. I am glad I borrowed it from the library before buying because I was expecting more recipes for beauty products and there were only a handful. On to top of that the information on beauty products left me confused. After I read her list of dangerous chemicals and going through my medicine cabinet I was in panic, since everything seemed to contain some dangerous chemical. Then I went online to check out some of the products she suggested and discovered that these too, contained some of the chemicals on her dangerous list. I am very confused as to what is safe according to her. I decided to keep my products and went with the ratings on the Skin Deep database, which are not that high for some of the chemicals she listed.
I gave it 3 stars anyway, because as I said at the beginning it is an OK book for someone who is intimidated by the whole "going green" thing. It even has an offer for a free chico bag at the end of the book. Not bad to help someone jump on the bandwagon.
