I LOVE DAGOBA
Pros: DELICIOUS & a huge variety of unique flavors
Cons: pricey
Ok, so I haven't actually had the Eclipse bar but I have had (a few times) their dark chocolate with lavender and blueberries and it is SO GOSH DARN DELICIOUS! (Now I want chocolate.)
They have such a unique variety of blends to their chocolate bars from simple milk and dark bars (with varying percentages of cacao and bitterness) to flavors like the following:
Mon Cherri - Berries and Vanilla
Hazelnut - Hazelnuts and Rice Crisp
Mint - Mint and Rosemary
Roseberry - Raspberry and Rose Hips
Superfruit - Acai, Goji, and Currants
Seeds - Hemp, Pumpkin and Sunflower
Xocolatl - Chilies and Nibs
Latte - Mocha Delight
Chai
Lemon & Ginger
Lime - Citrus Macadamia Tango
...my mouth is watering.
And, with regards to their ingredients and business practices...
From the FAQ's page on their website:
Does Dagoba offer Fair Trade products or support equitable trading?
Dagoba was founded to offer exceptional chocolate that benefits people and planet. In all of our sourcing, we look for suppliers that share our Full Circle Sustainability principles - supporting Quality Ecology, Equity and Community from cacao farms to you.
To fulfill our mission, we also require that all cacao and ingredients are organic, sustainably grown and of the highest quality - practices which are not required as part of Fair Trade Certification. In this way, we aim to offer the best of all worlds.
You can go to www.dagobachocolate.com and be just as tortured as I am (sitting at work and salivating for delicious dagoba chocolate.) =)
Oh, and the one downer is the price, albeit for a good "cause" and a delicious treat! I want to say they go for around $4.00 at places like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and the natural foods market on Church and Market St (across from the big Safeway.) It's been a while since I bought one... I think it's time.
