Vermont Natural Coatings PolyWhey FLOOR FINISH - Satin - Quart

Awesome product

DMack

Pros: high performance, low-VOC, no odor, fast drying

I used Vermont Natural Coatings to refinish an antique desk. My friend recommended it. When I popped the lid, I was bracing for an instant headache from the fumes - like Minwax or Tung Oil, but this stuff doesnt smell at all. Amazing!!! And better yet, it went on smooth and looks great. Soooo glad to have found this stuff - def worth the extra couple bucks.
Best primer ever.

SoyCrete Concrete Stain by Ecoprocote

SoyCrete Concrete Stain by Ecoprocote

“My husband and I just got done building our house. We wanted stained concrete floors, and to be environmentally responsible. In April, we spent a total of $966 on SoyCrete samples, stains, sealer, and EcoEtch. And we spent six weeks total prepping the floors, staining, taking the stain off, and trying over and over to get the stain to penetrate into the concrete. It just wouldn't work. The...” --builtgreen

Green Planet Paint Interior Clay Paints

Green Planet Paint Interior Clay Paints

“ This is great paint.    It is made of clay and smells like it.  The color is natural.  I have used lichen.  It was easy to do--a child helped me and had no trouble doing a fine job of painting.  The discoloring over time is also natural as you see in a clay pot. If you want a slick, suburban look, this may not be for you, but if you love a natural, peasant look,...” --sylvan

ICI Paints Freshaire Choice Paint

ICI Paints Freshaire Choice Paint

“I was looking for a zeroVOC paint where I could also get the tinting with zero VOCs as well and I could only find a few products and Freshaire was one of them.  Most "Zero" VOC paints put 150 grams of VOCs back into the paint with the tint.  The paint comes with a pre measured packet of colorant so you are getting consistent matching paint if you should ever need more later on.  Another feature...” --mgnum21

Benjamin Moore Eco Spec Latex Semi-Gloss 224

Benjamin Moore Eco Spec Latex Semi-Gloss 224

“I had to match many paints I was using in a project to this specific paint as the client was worried about VOCs. We didn't have any problem matching paints as we we have had in the past with other LOW or ZERO VOC paints. For other companies I have tried, Benjamin Moore seems to have the best variety and Eco Spec is a green, safer paint - my client is thrilled with the application and the...” --bobbinau

The Real Milk Paint Co. Milk Paint

The Real Milk Paint Co. Milk Paint

“I saw this first used in a health food store here and town. they also sold the product. so when doing our daughter's nursery, it was a must have. It was easy to use. The down side is when it drieds, it looks a bit "dusty" like it has a very very thin layer of chalk. if your hands are wet, it can effect the paint too I've noticed. not a problem in a bedroom or living room,...” --organicgal007

American Pride Interior Paint

American Pride Interior Paint

“At about $44/gallon, American Pride is cheaper than any other eco-friendly paint that I priced, and my local eco-friendly home furnishing store (EcoHome Improvement in Berkeley) can create any color for me. Some brands (like Yolo) come in a set number of pre-mixed colors, limiting consumers to the company's palette; not American Pride! They have every finish: matte, semi-gloss, full gloss,...” --oakling

AFM Safecoat Zero VOC Eggshell

AFM Safecoat Zero VOC Eggshell

“One of the few companies that only produces safe, healthy, green products. Most of the major paint companies have been forced to produce low VOC products by legislation so they add them to their toxic line and pretend to be green while still polluting the environment and making people sick. This paint is a true premium paint that is almost odorless when applying it and odorless when dry. It was...” --THDamron

Pittsburgh Paints Pure Performance Interior Paint

Pittsburgh Paints Pure Performance Interior Paint

“I like to use this paint and I've used it a lot. The downside with this paint is getting certain deep colors is not possible. Another downside to this and similar zero VOC paints is that once you add the tints it raises the VOC levels. Overall, a good product and I would recommend it.” --greengirl68
